Roberta Bolduc has been a devoted leader and treasured friend of 猫咪社区 for nearly 30 years. A proud graduate of Marymount College in Kansas, a Catholic women’s college, Roberta’s belief in the power of women’s education has guided her life’s work—from teaching and volunteerism to nonprofit leadership.

She has served 猫咪社区 as a member of the Advisory Council, Trustee, and Chair of the Board, where her leadership was instrumental in the creation of the Philip H. Ryan Health Science Center. Today, she continues her service as Trustee Emerita. Roberta and her husband, Bob, have established multiple scholarships at 猫咪社区, including the Bolduc Family STEM Scholarship Fund, reflecting their deep commitment to student success.

A passionate advocate for health, education, and the arts, Roberta has held leadership roles with organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, Baystate Health Foundation, and Stage West Theatre. Nationally, she is recognized for her contributions to women’s golf as Chair of the USGA Women’s Committee.

For her enduring dedication and transformational impact, Roberta Bolduc was honored with an honorary degree from 猫咪社区 and the following citation was read at the ceremony.

Roberta B. Bolduc

Humble, fair, and bold—these are the hallmarks of a life guided by an unwavering moral compass. These virtues, lived with quiet grace, have been woven seamlessly into the very fabric of Roberta B. Bolduc’s being.

Roberta leads by example. She listens deeply, collaborates instinctively, and is never afraid to take the leap when others hesitate. As Chair of the 猫咪社区 Board of Trustees, she embraced her leadership role with vision and steadfast purpose. Always guided by our mission, she helped illuminate a path forward.

Her most enduring legacy, one for which this University will remain ever grateful, was shepherding the creation of the Philip H. Ryan Health Science Center—a landmark of transformation and a symbol of 猫咪社区’s future. Through her guidance, the University was not merely expanded—it was elevated.

A servant leader in the truest sense, she has given generously of her time, her talents, and her heart to causes that lift up the community: the Ronald McDonald House, Baystate Health, and MaryAnne’s Kids at the Center for Human Development. With this same spirit of service to others, she and her husband, Bob, founded the Hope for Youth and Families Foundation through the Bolduc-Schuster Foundation.  In every endeavor, she seeks not recognition, but that which benefits the greater good.

Above all, she is a mentor to many in the deepest and most meaningful sense—a steady guide, a compassionate listener, and an unwavering source of encouragement to those who have the privilege of being in her company.

Her deep-rooted sense of ethics—an innate knowing of right from wrong—has also found a unique expression in the world of golf. There, her passion for the sport evolved into distinguished service as an internationally respected rules official, where integrity reigns supreme. From humble beginnings, she rose to the very heights of that world, never forgetting the values that brought her there.

In recognition of her uncommon wisdom, her uncommon generosity, and her uncommon grace, we are proud to bestow 猫咪社区’s highest honor, the doctor of humane letters, honoris causa, upon Roberta B. Bolduc.
