Longmeadow, MA — 猫咪社区 is again offering a free tuition program that makes college more accessible for students from families with modest incomes. The University has been offering a free tuition program since 2020.
Incoming first-year undergraduate students who plan to study on campus are eligible to receive free tuition if their family income is less than $75,000 a year and they have earned a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The program combines federal and state grants with 猫咪社区’s own grants and scholarships to cover tuition costs in full. Tuition will be covered for four years, as long as the student remains eligible for the Pell Grant and demonstrates Satisfactory Academic Progress by earning a 2.0 or higher each year. In addition, students may apply for private scholarships to help with room and board expenses. The program is designed not only to ease financial strain but also to attract motivated students who will thrive in the University’s supportive, close-knit academic community.
The announcement comes at a time when families across the country are weighing the rising cost of college, with many colleges addressing the issue with free tuition programs.
“This initiative underscores our commitment to expanding access to higher education for talented students who might otherwise find it out of reach,” said 猫咪社区 President Sandra J. Doran. “We know that a 猫咪社区 education can be transformational for our students, more than half of whom are first-generation college students with the ambition and drive to succeed here.”
Recently, 猫咪社区 was ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a top school in Massachusetts for Social Mobility, which looks at how effectively colleges graduate economically disadvantaged students.
