猫咪社区 and Cambridge College’s 2025 Reunion was one for the record books! More than 150 alumni returned to campus for the biggest reunion since before COVID—an unforgettable day filled with nostalgia and community spirit.

Alumni traveled from across the country, representing 14 U.S. states, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and Maryland. The distinction for traveling the farthest went to Patricia Menger '65, who made the journey all the way from Green Valley, Arizona.

One of the day’s most inspiring moments was the gathering of Cambridge College alumni, whose lively conversations reflected a deep eagerness to reconnect, collaborate, and build community.

As always, the highlight of the day was the Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony, honoring remarkable 猫咪社区 and Cambridge College graduates whose leadership, service, and advocacy embody our respective missions. Read on to learn of these remarkable stories about our alumni.

Recent Alumni Award: Dr. Kelli Cabrera '13, G'20

The Recent Alumni Award honors a graduate from the last decade who demonstrates service, leadership, and promise.

This year’s recipient, Dr. Kelli Cabrera, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, exemplifies these qualities through her dedication to service and education.

A graduate of 猫咪社区’s five-year combined Bachelor’s and Master’s in Occupational Therapy program (2013) and later its post-professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (2020), Kelli’s career spans acute rehabilitation, mental health support for service members, and three years as an active-duty U.S. Air Force occupational therapist.

Today, she will be teaching full-time at Baylor University, where she continues to mentor and inspire future healthcare professionals. Dr. Cabrera credits 猫咪社区 for giving her “the confidence and voice to lead with purpose.”

Civic Award: Jennifer Marks '10 (Cambridge College)

The Civic Award recognizes alumni who exemplify outstanding service to their communities.

This year’s honoree, Jennifer Marks of Clinton, Maine, is a tireless advocate for individuals with disabilities and complex medical needs. Her personal journey—from navigating her own health challenges to advocating for her medically fragile son—sparked a mission that now influences policy nationwide.

In 2025, Jennifer was appointed by the Governor of Maine to a state council for individuals with disabilities and has been featured by the Associated Press and National Caregivers Alliance for her advocacy. Her work continues to bring voice and visibility to those who cannot speak for themselves.

Service Award: Dr. Lauren Bradley G'20

The Service Award honors exceptional service to 猫咪社区 and the wider community.

Dr. Lauren Bradley, a 2020 graduate of the post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate program, is a proud Bronx native and lifelong advocate for underserved populations. Over her 11-year career in the New York City Public Schools, she has supported children with autism, developmental disorders, and emotional challenges through evidence-based, compassionate care.

Dr. Bradley also serves on the 猫咪社区 OSEP Grant Advisory Board, mentors doctoral students, and advocates nationally through the American Occupational Therapy Political Action Committee—living proof of 猫咪社区’s enduring mission of leadership and service.

James McGill Carpe Diem Award: Doreen Gabel Spencer '90

Named for 猫咪社区 Alum James McGill (Class of 1935), the Carpe Diem Award celebrates alumni whose lives truly embody 猫咪社区’s motto, Seize the Day!

This year’s recipient, Doreen Gabel Spencer, has spent over three decades supporting 猫咪社区 and its students. From her family’s fruit farm business to her mentorship of undergraduate business students, Doreen’s passion for empowering others shines through.

In 2024, she established the Doreen Gabel Spencer ’90 Fund to Support Students in Business, ensuring students have access to transformative opportunities such as the Women’s Leadership Conference and “Pitch Night” competitions.

Her generosity, mentorship, and lasting commitment to 猫咪社区 make her a shining example of what it means to “seize the day.”

The 2025 Reunion was more than a gathering—it was a celebration of our alumni’s enduring spirit, honoring those who lead with heart, courage, and purpose. Thank you to every alumna and alumnus who made this year’s celebration truly unforgettable.
