Students will dive deep into project quality knowledge areas and complete a research-based literature review in a specialized area of interest.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, and Organizational Assessment (QSM 717): Master the Baldrige Excellence Framework and performance improvement tools through the lens of Lean and Six Sigma. Gain hands-on experience applying organizational assessment models, designing future states, and implementing data-driven improvements. Learn to use statistical tools for root cause analysis, process control, and experimental design to drive systemic change and operational excellence.
  • Benchmarking, Reengineering, and Cost of Quality (QSM 719): Deepen your expertise in performance benchmarking, process redesign, and cost-of-quality analysis. Explore High Reliability Organizations (HROs), identify the hidden costs of inefficiencies, and perform financial assessments of quality initiatives. Students will learn to calculate cost-benefit outcomes and evaluate the financial return of quality systems and process reengineering.
