Sean O’Brien is a seasoned expert in cybersecurity, privacy, and higher education leadership, now serving as Program Director for 猫咪社区’s undergraduate and graduate cybersecurity programs. With over two decades of experience, he combines deep technical fluency with a strong grounding in legal, regulatory, and risk frameworks.

Prior to joining 猫咪社区, Sean founded the Yale Privacy Lab and served as an Associate Research Scholar at Yale Law School, where he taught courses spanning digital security, blockchain, and AI. He is the creator of the zero-knowledge collaboration platform PrivacySafe and has held leadership roles at global security firms including ExpressVPN.

Sean’s hands-on expertise encompasses secure application and infrastructure deployment, vulnerability & bug bounty program management, IAM administration, and the management of crypto asset endpoints. A lifelong educator, Sean has delivered remote instruction to large audiences and led curriculum development for programs such as the Hacking & Cybersecurity initiative at the Lawfare Institute, Cybersecurity for Business Leaders at the University of Oxford, and AI risk workshops at Ivy Cyber Academy. He has held leadership roles at blockchain and privacy-oriented firms and is an active ISC2 CISSP and member of IEEE SA Open.
