Jean Marrapodi, PhD, CPTD, is an award-winning leader and instructional designer with nearly three decades of experience in higher education, corporate learning, and nonprofit literacy work. She holds a PhD in Adult and Postsecondary Education from Capella University and is a Certified Professional in Talent Development. Jean is passionate about making the complex simple, with a focus on developing practical, engaging learning experiences that prepare professionals for leadership roles in today’s organizations.
Jean has served in leadership positions across the corporate and higher education sectors, but prefers to spend her time in the creative world of an individual contributor. She has extensive experience in curriculum design, change management, and talent development, having led initiatives to redesign training programs, support accreditation processes, and deliver professional development workshops. Her background in organizational learning and performance consulting aligns well with 猫咪社区's mission to provide career-focused, applied education for working professionals.
An accomplished presenter and published author, Jean is known for her engaging, interactive workshops and development of sticky learning. She has received industry recognition, including the Learning Guild’s Guildmaster Award for lifetime contributions to the field of e-learning, as well as awards from USDLA and Brandon Hall for best practices in online education. Her writing covers practical topics in instructional design, authentic assessment, and addressing learning challenges in adult populations.
She lives in the Boston metro area with two cats in active competition for the world record in shedding. When she is not designing, learning, or teaching, you will find her spending time with her nine grandchildren or painting in her watercolor studio.
