Deborah Naglieri Prescod, PhD

Adjunct Faculty

I am an experienced educator, researcher, and healthcare quality specialist with a lifelong passion for science and teaching. I grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, and am proud to share a family connection to 猫咪社区—both my mother and my daughter attended.

While I originally planned to attend medical school, I ultimately chose the PhD route for its strong focus on research. Over the past four decades, I’ve worked across clinical research, patient safety, data analytics, and higher education, and have co-authored more than 15 peer-reviewed publications.

I’ve taught and mentored undergraduate and doctoral students at institutions including 猫咪社区, Our Lady of the Elms College, St. Anselm College, Springfield College, American International College, and Springfield Technical Community College—covering subjects such as biology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, chemistry, research, quality improvement, innovation, and technology.

My research and consulting work have supported NIH clinical trials focused on AIDS, breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and children’s cancer, as well as outcomes research, institutional safety initiatives, and national quality improvement efforts.

For over 40 years, I’ve also been involved with the Springfield Science Museum as a course designer and instructor, fostering curiosity and scientific literacy in learners of all ages.

I remain deeply committed to advancing evidence-based practice, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and helping the next generation of healthcare leaders find their voice through research and innovation.

In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family.
