Cecile Morris, PhD, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Dr. Cecile Morris brings a rich and diverse background to her teaching, with professional experience spanning the corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors. She has held leadership roles in human resources and operations with organizations including NovaCare Inc., the University of California, Santa Cruz, HMSHost Inc., Hawaiian Islands, and Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her career has covered key industries such as healthcare, food and beverage, and higher education.

Dr. Morris earned her Juris Doctor in 2005 and completed her PhD in Organization and Management in 2011. Since then, she has been an active educator, teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in online, on-campus, and hybrid learning environments for colleges and universities across the U.S. In addition to credit-based courses, she delivers professional development training through Windward Community College and Kapiolani Community College in Honolulu.

An expert in human resources, Cecile holds both the SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications and serves on the national exam writing panel for the HR Certification Institute. She also volunteers as a mentor with her local SHRM chapter, supporting the next generation of HR professionals.

Her recent speaking engagements include presentations at the California Assisted Living Conference, the Colorado LeadingAge Conference, and corporate events in Hawaii. She frequently speaks on timely topics such as Generations in the Workplace, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Mentoring and Coaching in the Era of AI, and Upskilling for the Future of Work.

In addition to her academic work, Cecile remains active as a consultant, helping organizations navigate change and build stronger, more inclusive workplaces.
